St. Hugh of Avalon was the 1st Bishop of Lincoln. He was one of the most important figures in medieval English history. After his death he was Canonized by Pope Honorius in 1220. The history of his life is an awesome read. He was the primary builder and architect of Lincoln Cathedral and used advant-garde building techniques such as huge round stained glass windows and flying buttresses. The Knights Templar meet at Lincoln Cathedral and part of the Divinci Code was filmed there.
