The Descendants of the Templar Knights
The Descendants of the Templar Knights (DTK) was founded 20 October 2018. DTK exists to honor and perpetuate the memory of our brave and dedicated Templar ancestors, their ideals and achievements. They were created as a monastic order for the protection of Christian pilgrims, who were routinely slaughtered, sometimes by the hundreds, as they attempted to make the journey from the coastline at Jaffa through to the interior of the Holy Land.
Applicants for membership shall be ladies and gentleman who can prove lineal descent from one or more Templar Knights, who were officially recognized in 1129.
The Descendants of the Templar Knights…
Is actively involved with current restoration of the Norman Doors of Temple Church in London. The ancient western entrance to the Temple Church is a glorious Norman doorway from 1162. Until the early 19th century, the doorway was in fine condition. London’s pollution and well- meant interventions with chemical preservatives and inferior restorative materials did more harm than good.
This rare, historic and beautiful doorway can now be brought back to something close to its first glory some 850 years later. The current restoration project can be expected to preserve its beauty for centuries.
The Baronial Order of Magna Carta has donated to Temple Church in order to fund preparatory HD photography of the doorway, as well as a video promoting its restoration. In return, BOMC will receive credit in the video as well as a permanent acknowledgment within Temple Church.
