THE MILITARY ORDER OF CRUSADES MERGES WITH THE BARONIAL ORDER OF MAGNA CHARTA
In 1998, The Military Order of the Crusades (MOC) was merged into the Baronial Order of Magna Charta (BOMC) Corporation. The joining of MOC under the umbrella of BOMC will not alter its mission nor its requirements for membership wherein the MOC will retain it's essential integrity of purpose. The merger will further strengthen the administrative focus and raison d'être of both Orders.
This prescient and far-reaching concept was originally that of our Past-Marshall, Leroy Moody Lewis, Jr. who, a number of years ago, felt that the two organizations would be stronger as a unit rather than operating separately. It is particularly significant that most of the members of MOC are also members of BOMC, due naturally to the fact that the sealing of Magna Charta by King John in 1215 was at the height of the crusades upon which many of the sureties had ventured forth.
It is felt that this previously untried joining of hands of one historical organization with another may well be a blue print for other organizations to consider as one way in which to firm up their overall structures.
The Baronial Order of Magna Charta enthusiastically welcomes the members of The Military Order of the Crusades into our jointly held camp.
